Cindy Deporter was raised in Western North Carolina and now lives in Granville County working for the Department of Health and Human Services in Raleigh. She has a Master’s Degree in Social Work and has worked in healthcare for the entirety of her professional life.
As the State Agency Director for the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services Division of Health Service Regulation, she educates providers about federal nursing home regulations and is a tireless advocate for the elderly. She is also the federal liaison for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, overseeing 17 federally funded programs in North Carolina.
Cindy is experienced in crisis management during national disasters and pandemics. Her foundation, career as a civil servant, and love for her home state makes her the representative North Carolina needs.
